Houston Area
Community Services

The Mission of Houston Area Community Services is to provide a compassionate medical home for all people of Harris County, regardless of their economic status. It is our vision that HACS is a leader among health care providers and a model for stable, empathetic health care for the most vulnerable residents of Houston and the surrounding areas.

Established in 1998, HACS is a not-for-profit organization that provides affordable, quality medical care, a pharmacy, behavioral health services and living assistance to both individuals and families. HACS is designated as a Federally Qualified Healthcare Center by The Health Resources Services Administration. Additionally, HACS is certified by The Joint Commission as a Primary Care Medical home. These primary accreditations, in addition to others for the various departments within HACS, ensure that we continue to provide quality services by meeting or surpassing national standards for health care services.

It's just wonderful, they provide and they help with a lot, in a lot of different areas. I am more than sure that there's a lot more that they offer, we just don't use those areas. With everything they've helped us on, it's all worth it. We come out benefiting from it, of course.

HACS in the Community:

It's summertime in Houston!

While you and your friends and family are enjoying the sunny weather, keep in mind that 1 out of 5 Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime!

The good news is that skin cancer is HIGHLY PREVENTABLE!

Use these tips as the temps warm up in Houston to reduce your risk:

1. Seek the shade
2. Do not burn
3. Avoid tanning booths
4. Cover up using a hat and sunglasses
5. Use sunscreen (SPF 15+) and apply it 30 minutes before you head outside
6. Keep newborns out of the sun
7. Examine your skin for any changes in moles

HAVE A SAFE & FUN SUMMER!
